Animal welfare of pets in Ecuador and in the city of Riobamba: bibliographic review ; Bienestar animal de las mascotas en Ecuador y en la ciudad de Riobamba: revisión bibliográfica

Animal Welfare (BA) is a subject that is gaining greater interest and knowledge on the part of the population, in addition to preserving the physical health of companion animals, it is important to preserve mental health and public health. In recent years it is evident how the canine and feline population has grown in the Canton of Riobamba. Therefore, it was considered important to carry out a search on different authors and points of view regarding the situation of the country, and of the city of Riobamba, regarding the Animal Welfare of pets. Eight investigations in different cities of Ecuador were analyzed, to make a bibliographic review of the data of interest regarding responsible ownership and animal welfare in companion animals. One of the investigations is excluded since the survey questions are not specified, the investigation around the five freedoms of Animal Welfare is addressed. Currently there is no study of the state of Animal Welfare in the city of Riobamba, so it is encouraged to expand this topic in this city. ; El Bienestar Animal (BA), es un tema que va alcanzando mayor interés y conocimiento por parte de la población, además de conservar la salud física de los animales de compañía, es importante preservar la salud mental, y la salud pública. En los últimos años es evidente como ha crecido la población canina y felina en el Cantón de Riobamba. Por lo que se consideró importante realizar una búsqueda sobre diferentes autores y puntos de vista respecto a la situación del país, y de la ciudad de Riobamba, respecto al Bienestar Animal de las mascotas. Se analizaron ocho investigaciones en diferentes ciudades del Ecuador, para hacer una revisión bibliográfica de los datos de interés respecto a la tenencia responsable y bienestar animal en los animales de compañía.
