      The objective of the study was to analyze the training by labor competencies of the professors of the Polytechnic University of Cabimas; with the contributions of Pérez (2018), Rivadeneira (2017), among others. The methodology was analytical, supported by the positivist paradigm with field design, not experimental. It is concluded that the training by labor competencies of the professors of the Polytechnic University of Cabimas adapts to the demands of the work environment; The intellectual skills they develop are good and the personal skills excellent.       El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la formación por competencias laborales de los profesores de la Universidad Politécnica de Cabimas; con los aportes de Pérez (2018), Rivadeneira (2017), entre otros. La metodología fue analítica, apoyada en el paradigma positivista con diseño de campo, no experimental. Se concluye que la formación por competencias laborales de los profesores de la Universidad Politécnica de Cabimas se adapta a las exigencias del entorno laboral; las competencias intelectuales que desarrollan son buenas y las personales excelentes.
