Informed consent as a human right protected by the Inter-American court. Case study from Medellín -- Colombia.

The informed consent in medical matters is constituted in the record that the patient has been respected in his autonomy and explaining in a clear and understandable way his situation, the possible procedures to be practiced, risks and technical means. Despite this, in a hospital in Medellín - Colombia the sexual and reproductive rights of a woman were violated. Without her consent, the treating doctors cut his Fallopian tubes. El consentimiento informado en materia médica se constituye en la constancia de que al paciente se le ha respetado en su autonomía y explicando de manera clara y entendible su situación, los posibles procedimientos a practicar, riesgos y medios técnicos procedentes. A pesar de esto, en un hospital de Medellín -- Colombia se vulneraron los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de una mujer. Sin su consentimiento, los médicos tratantes le cortaron sus trompas de Falopio. La justicia ordinaria de Colombia no prestó la debida atención al caso.
