  What does it mean for an ISE to grow as a leader? There is an overwhelming volume of leadership development curriculums and tools attempting to answer that question. Our challenge is to create a focused and accessible leadership development system that may be integrated and sustained as a natural part of our programs. To accomplish this goal, we used systems thinking processes that we teach students as part of our "integration" skill set. Here we describe that process and its associated leadership development framework. The model has proven effective in recognizing the strong connections between building leaders and creating systems thinkers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
