      The article examines how frameworks for national memory were installed in Bogota? between the end of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. Although there was already a state-run program of sculptures being implemented in the Cementerio de la Ciudad (municipal cemetery), up to 1870 there was a deliberate action to transform public spaces into a script of the “country’s history,” including the naming of streets, changing the colonial names of public squares, the emergence of “gardens of the republic,” and the placement of statues in various locations. While the city was becoming a political hub for the nation, urban spaces were being remodeled to support its collective memory. ; El arti?culo estudia la instauracio?n de los marcos de la memoria nacional en Bogota? a fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Aunque en el Cementerio de la Ciudad ya se desarrollaba un programa de esculturas estatal, fue hasta 1870 que tomo? forma la accio?n deliberada de convertir el espacio pu?blico en un texto de “historia patria”, esto incluyo? nomenclatura de calles, cambio de nombres coloniales de plazas, aparicio?n de “jardines de la repu?blica” y ubicacio?n de esculturas en diversos lugares. Mientras la ciudad se converti?a en centro poli?tico de la nacio?n, el espacio urbano se transfiguro? en soporte de la memoria colectiva. ; Este artigo estuda o estabelecimento dos marcos da memo?ria nacional em Bogota? entre finais do se?culo XIX e princi?pios do se?culo XX. Embora um programa de esculturas controlado pelo Estado ja? estivesse em andamento no Cemite?rio da Cidade, foi por volta de 1870 que a ac?a?o deliberada de converter o espac?o pu?blico em um texto de “histo?ria pa?tria” tomou forma, o que incluiu nomenclaturas de ruas, mudanc?as dos nomes coloniais das prac?as, surgimento de “jardins da repu?blica” e instalac?a?o de esculturas em diversos lugares. Ao mesmo tempo que a cidade se convertia em centro poli?tico da nac?a?o, o espac?o urbano se transfigurava em suporte da memo?ria coletiva.
