; Since 1930, Colombia has suffered acute moments of violence that beginning in 1947 have become part of the social fabric. As a result, this has been a repetitive theme of intergenerational Colombian visual artists, thereby creating a tradition. This study is centered on the first painters that dedicated their work to denounce this long and blooded non-declared civil war, showing the connections between violent episodes and how art works express the historically recognized moments.
