    • Abstract:
Tetraploid potatoes are the most cultivated world-wide, however, there is a potential for the widespread use of diploid genotypes. Colombia is positioned as the greatest producer, consumer, and exporter of these genotypes. As owners of a high diversity of Phureja potatoes, it is crucial to generate knowledge on the processing quality, especially the sugar type and contents. Four Colombian commercial cultivars (Criolla Guaneña, Criolla Paisa, Criolla Galeras, and Criolla Colombia) and five landrace accessions from the Colombian Core Collection of Group Phureja were grown in the district of Usme (Bogotá) fields for analysis of sugar contents using a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
