Abstract: Management practice of teachers in universities, has required the use of technologies. In this sense, the problem under study is contextualized in the boom generated by the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), making it necessary to study the technological competencies: knowledge, skills and attitudes to properly use them. Therefore, the present article aims to: Identify basic skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that has the teacher in the exercise of managerial functions in a Venezuelan university. 26 teachers were surveyed, highlighting the most relevant basic ICT skills they possess, are the technical skills, related to word processing and attitudinal; requiring training to develop other skills that facilitate the use of ICT to optimize their work.
