Recognizing the impact of the social, political and armed conflict on the present and future of Colombia, this article analyzes some of the rhetoric which appeared in audiovisual and written media between 2008 and 2015 about the armed forces, insurgent organizations and the women that integrate them. I argue that these rhetorics are related to a war fought on a symbolic level -in which the category “terrorism” has occupied an important place- and that it continues to have profound repercussions on the configuration of Colombian society. The article synthesizes some elements of the investigation “Being a guerrilla is an honor. Mediations in the conversion and permanence of militant women of insurgent organizations in Colombia”, carried out between early 2012 and mid-2016 with guerrilla women being held as political prisoners. ; Reconociendo el impacto del conflicto social, político y armado en la historia presente y futura de Colombia, este artículo analiza algunas de las retóricas que circularon en medios audiovisuales y escritos entre 2008 y 2015 acerca de las fuerzas armadas, las organizaciones insurgentes y las mujeres que las integran. Sostengo que estas retóricas guardan relación con una guerra que se libra en el plano de lo simbólico –en la que la categoría “terrorismo” ha ocupado un lugar importante– y que sigue teniendo repercusiones profundas en la configuración de la sociedad colombiana. El artículo sintetiza algunos elementos de la investigación “Ser guerrillera es un honor. Mediaciones en la conversión y permanencia de mujeres militantes de organizaciones insurgentes en Colombia”, realizada entre inicios de 2012 y mediados de 2016 con mujeres guerrilleras en condición de prisión política.
