Abstract: This work intends to analyze the characteristics of femicidal violence in Ecuador in the period 2014-2022. In this context, the research presents a non-experimental cross-sectional study, of a descriptive type through a mixed methodology. The crime of femicide in Latin America began to be typified from the first decade of the 21st century. In Ecuador, this crime was embodied in the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP) in 2014, facilitating the identification, investigation, prosecution, sanction and reparation of victims. The advances in the normative and practical field have been significant; however, the levels of gender violence in terms of the crime of femicide have increased, the most used instruments are the knife and firearms; Among the causes that generate this crime are the power relations linked to the inequality of the victims due to their educational level and unemployment that generates economic dependency. The practical application of legal instruments and intervention and prevention plans (primary, secondary and tertiary) in the social, educational and community spheres helps to reduce the levels of gender violence and femicide. ; Este trabajo se propone analizar las características de la violencia femicida en el Ecuador en el periodo 2014-2022. En este contexto, la investigación presenta un estudio no experimental transversal, de tipo descriptivo a través de una metodología mixta. El delito de femicidio en América Latina inicia se tipifico a partir de la primera década el siglo XXI. En Ecuador este delito se plasmó en el Código Orgánico Integral Penal (COIP) en el año 2014, facilitando la identificación, investigación, judicialización, sanción y reparación a las víctimas.
