This article presents reasons for an increase in stock market of Colombia's Bogotá and Medellín. The day after drug thug Pablo Escobar was killed, the stock market increased. Alejandra Torres, a Bogotá-based analyst for Baring Securities, says foreign capital is pouring in, encouraged that Escobar's death marks the beginning of an end to Colombian lawlessness. Torres expects foreign investment in Colombian shares to double in 1994, to $300 million. After a slight correction, she predicts Colombia's bolsas will hit new highs in 1994.
