'Treatment of the Salient Arab Events in the American Media discourse Targeting Arab Audiences and the Egyptian Elite Attitudes Towards it

The thesis attempts to identify the news frames for Arab issues and events in the US media discourse in the American media Targeting in Arabic Language (Radio SAWA -Channel of Alhurra- CNN website in Arabic) and attitudes of the Egyptian Elite towards media coverage frames of Arab issues and events in those media and the impact of the mediated variables on the sample attitudes towards the news treatment frames offered by the media under study.Analytical study sample consisted of (1831) Arab news stories or issues during the period from 15/7/2014 till 31/8/2014 while the survey study sample included (120) items of the Egyptian elites in the media and political and academic fields as per (40) items in each field.The study relied on the survey method, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches in the content analysis of the news treatment of Arab issues in the media under study and the news frames theory was used as a theoretical frame for the study to test the hypotheses of the study.Key Words: (Radio SAWA -channel of Alhurra- CNN website in Arabic – Framing Theory).
