Abstract: This publication is part of the research conducted in the field of regional teaching of Polish. It shows the discrepancy between ministerial directives and school practice. The omission of appropriate provisions in the General Education Core Curriculum of 2017, which gave no time for reading practice during Polish lessons, was considered unfavourable for the teaching of humanities. The current document ignores the importance of the cultural values of the family environment of students and their immediate region; no mention was made of the possibilities that come from appreciating the important relationships between the student and the complex nature of the territory in which they live. An attempt was made to signal this gap metaphorically in the title of the publication (“[…] Between Creating Bonds and Socialisation”). Analytical considerations are accompanied by a detailed reflection on education and upbringing in the spirit of modern regionalism. This brings tangible benefits when the content of regional Polish studies is implemented in accordance with the directives of anthropocentric cultural education, respecting the individuality of young people.
