    • Abstract:
      The article provides a theoretical overview of the problem and an analysis of the results of a survey of teachers about new opportunities and significant challenges regarding professional development which appear in the conditions of digitalization of education, postgraduate in particular. The authors consider postgraduate education as one that plays a key role in improving the qualifications of teachers, contributing to their adaptation to modern digital technologies, their effective use for professional development. Simultaneously with the formation of information and digital competencies related to the skills to work with educational platforms, interactive resources, create and apply online educational materials, and carry out critical analysis of technological solutions, teachers need to develop other types of competencies related to planning, implementation and reflection of their own professional development through the use of the opportunities of digitalization of education. The results of the analysis of scientific research and teacher surveys allowed the materials of the article to determine the expectations of teachers from postgraduate education institutions related to the possibility of mastering new knowledge, to highlight the current vectors of professional development. Among the key vectors of professional development in the context of digitalization, the development of skills in using digital feedback tools, creating media content (video, blogs, websites, wiki platforms), professional communication and exchange of experience using social networks, cooperation in professional communities, and the formation of a digital portfolio are highlighted. In addition, the implementation of innovative educational technologies (artificial intelligence, gamification, data analytics, etc.) is important.
