Collaboration in the Earth Science Data System Working Groups (ESDSWG)

Collaborative inter-organizational groups can offer benefits for participating organizations and for society. As part of the discussion on the value and sustainability of collaborative inter-organizational groups, the history and evolution of the Earth Science Data System Working Groups (ESDSWG) are described, along with a brief discussion of selected ESDSWG outcomes, activities, and relationships between the ESDSWG and the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP). Insights that have been gained from collaborating on ESDSWG activities are described to inform the formation and management of collaborative activities within inter-organizational groups.
