- Abstract:
The concept of a heritage language is common and familiar in today’s world of growing rates of global immigration. As such there are more and more studies on Vietnamese as a heritage language. This article is only one of the research efforts focused on Vietnamese as a heritage language in Japan – where many Vietnamese live. This paper looks at the results of a survey of the linguistic characteristics of Japanese-Vietnamese children and will analyze the current situation of using and maintaining Vietnamese as a heritage language in Japan.
