      This experiment was conducted in the district of Shanao province of Lamas, San Martin Region, in the land of Mr. Tedin Huaman serious, located at 320 meters above sea level falls to a length of 76 ° 37' and southern latitude 06.26 'with a temperature 24 ° 27' average with an average monthly rainfall of 117.67 mm. The soil had the following characteristics: sandy clay loam texture, pH 7.5, available phosphorus 112.20 mg / 100g, calcium magnesium + 22.00 mg / 100g. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the optimal level of application of four levels of nitrogen fertilization on yield and quality of fruits of a variety of gherkins for pickling or industry (Cucumis sativus L.). Variety national pikling on a floor Entisol series bambas ; determine the cost / benefit ratio of different treatments for their recommendation. The seeding density was performed at 2.0 m between rows and 0.30 m between plants, installed in completely randomized designs, adapted in 4 replicates using levels of 150, 100 and 50 kg of n2 / ha and a control without fertilization. It was found that applying 150 kg nitrogen / ha 1 has a yield of 14, 66 tm / ha. Applying 100 kg / ha have a yield of 10.87 tonnes / ha 1 with 50 kg nitrogen / ha, a yield of 12.79 tonnes / ha was obtained, and the control without fertilization is 9.33 tons / ha.; observing the analysis of variance is not significant but duncan multiple test shows that there is variability between 4.2 and 3 treatments with 1 ~ 0, 50 and 100 k9 nitrogen / ha respectively and all with respect to the control . however when analyzing the cost / benefit ratio of treatments found that using the level of 50 kg torque nitrogen ha., optimum benefit of 9.1, compared to the t4 level of fertilizaci6n of 150 kg nitrogen / was obtained has .
