Abstract: In the theoretical part of the paper the authors examine the emergence and development of the idea of individualisation of teaching, point to its didactic and methodological significance and actualize the question of representation of this teaching strategy within the school subject Nature and Society in the first grades of elementary school. Starting from the theoretical observations, in the empirical part of the paper, the attitudes of students of teacher training faculties in Serbia towards the possibilities of application of flexible individualization in teaching Science and Society through a variety of teaching methods are examined. It turned out that future teachers point to the positive aspects of flexible individualization supported by various teaching methods, especially by text method, writing method and experimental laboratory method.
