- Abstract:
The legal disposition Ley Orgánica 5/2000 (L.O.5/2000) regarding the criminal responsibility of youth have fostered the role of the psychologist in the legal setting. In this study we present a descriptive analysis of the work carried out by the Forensic Team (consisting of one psychologist, one social worker, and one educational worker) of Toledo's Juvenile Court from 2001 to 2012 in three different areas: type of facts, proposed measures, and characteristics of the population assisted. The database contains 6,566 entries. The major findings were that 92% of offenders were boys and 54% of offences were against property, the most frequent decision (27.4%) was parole with support within the community and, 9.2% of juvenile offenders were in juvenile jails. La Ley Orgánica 5/2000 (L.O. 5/2000) sobre la responsabilidad penal del menor ha potenciado el papel del psicólogo dentro del ámbito forense. En este artículo se presenta un análisis descriptivo del trabajo realizado por el Equipo Técnico (psicólogo, educador y trabajador Social) de la Fiscalía de Menores de Toledo desde el año 2001 hasta el 2012 en tres áreas principales: los menores, sus infracciones y las medidas recomendadas. Durante este tiempo se han acumulado 6.566 entradas en el registro del equipo técnico. Los principales hallazgos han sido que el 92% de los menores infractores son varones, el 54% de las infracciones fueron contra la propiedad y la medida más recomendada fue la de libertad vigilada (27.4%).
