      The National Kidney Disease Education Program works to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with kidney disease by raising awareness about the epidemic and stressing the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, and appropriate management of kidney disease. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health has launched the National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP) Web site. The Web site is aimed to assist the scientific and health care community by offering a variety of information about kidney disease.
