- Abstract:
  The article discusses technological developments in computer chips. Particular focus is given to Moore's Law, a theory developed by engineer Gordon Moore which quantified the concept of scaling in electronic circuits as related to chip size and processing speed. According to the author, the technological acceleration Moore predicted has slowed. It is suggested that as chips become smaller, the laws of physics will eventually prevent them from functioning reliably, possibly slowing innovation.
