    • Abstract:
The aim of this article is to analyze the debate in the form of government that occurred in the sessions of the Constituent Congress and in the Buenos Aires press during 1816, as well as the subsequent discussion of the draft constitution. These controversies led to different positions on the exercise of sovereignty -monarchy or republic -as well as on its ownership- "pueblos"/nation-. In this context we will show that the unity supporters tried to establish it through the introduction of a constitutional monarchy and the consecration of a single and indivisible nation as the subject of the imputation of sovereignty. • Abstract:
