Club de Cuervos. Pride, prejudice, power and fame in football. (English)

Serial fictions became the blockbuster of the nineteenth century with the soap operas. In the twenty-first century are in a fruitful moment both in relation to the popularity achieved due to the technical and the aesthetic quality. Originally from the newspaper pages, serial fictions became accessible by different means such as from televisions, computers and mobile phones, transmitted to mass audiences. Platforms like Netflix, which started business as a home DVD distributor, turned into the producer of successful original serial fictions featuring Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. It is worth highlighting the dramatic comedy Club Cuervos which is Netflix's first production entirely Latin American. Football is its central theme, which stresses the importance of sport as part of strategy of captioning audience in Spanish speaking territories. Cuervos Club is a production that stands out for having football not as a mere supplement, but as articulator element of a narrative that focuses on important aspects of contemporary society as male-chauvinism, homophobia and quarrel for power and fame. Sucesso de público no século XIX com os folhetins, as ficções seriadas, no século XXI, se encontram em um fértil momento, tanto no que se refere à popularidade alcançada quanto à qualidade técnica e estética. Das páginas de jornal, a ficção seriada passou a ser acessada de diversos veículos como a televisão, o computador e o celular, espalhando-se por públicos massivos. Assume papel relevante, plataformas como a Netflix que de distribuidora de DVDs em domicílio se transformou em uma produtora de exitosos seriados originais como Orange is the New Black e House of Cards. Merece destaque a comédia dramática Club de Cuervos que é a primeira produção inteiramente latino-americana da Netflix. A história tem o futebol como temática central, o que aponta para a importância desse esporte como parte da estratégia de captação de audiência em territórios de língua espanhola. Club de Cuervos é uma produção que se destaca por ter o futebol não como um simples apêndice, mas como elemento articulador de uma narrativa que se debruça sobre aspectos importantes da sociedade contemporânea como o machismo, a homofobia e a disputa por poder e fama.
