      The article explores aspects of Ludovico Ariosto's, Italian poet, writings and focusing on matters of religion and language. Topics discussed include citing other writers of the era such as Pietro Bembo, Teofilo and Giovanni Battista Folengo, to provide context for the positions taken by Ariosto; legitimizing of the "Orlando Furioso" throughout the sixteenth century; and also mentions about the serious crimes committed by Christian soldiers during the battle of Biserta.
