    • Abstract:
The well being of children in the United States has improved in some areas but declined in others, according to a yearly statistical report compiled by the federal government. The study found that the teenage birthrate is at an all time low, that young adults were less likely in 2002 to commit violent crimes or become victims of them than in the year before and that the death rate has declined for children and young teenagers. But the prevalence of overweight children has increased and small increases have occurred in percentages of low-birth-weight infants.
