- Abstract:
There has been much theoretical discussion about the disruption that blockchain technology could cause in all sectors (financial, insurance, communications, and more) and on the legal challenges that its use entails. The Supreme Court ruling (Criminal Division, Section 1a) number 326/2019 of June 20 is the first ruling by the Supreme Court in Spain that addresses the nature of one of the most wellknown aspects of blockchain technology, namely the so-called cryptocurrencies and, in particular, the most famous of them all, the bitcoin. In this regard, our High Court is clear: bitcoin is not legally considered to be money. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
- Abstract:
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
