Along with the limitless advancement of technology in the world today, the field of education is no exception in receiving the effect of the wave of technological explosion. In today’s world of education, teachers have begun to use technology in teaching and learning (PdP) sessions. This study was conducted to highlight the development of the Quran juz’ ‘amma applications in Malay language from 2016 to 2020 that widely used in Android smartphones in terms of their recitation, tajwid, memorisation and interpretation of the Quran. In this regard, this content analysis study also focused on the application design of juz’ ‘amma from the early development up until the use and response towards the application. The study found that there are different types of the Quran juz’ ‘amma applications in the Malay language available on the market. Yet, this study found that they do not focus on the components required in a complete application of the Qur'an, namely recitation, tajwid, memorisation and recitation all-inclusive in one application. Therefore, this study is also to enable the researchers to suggest Islamic Education teachers and students in identifying the appropriate application of the Quran juz’ ‘amma that can be used as PdP materials in the classroom as well as self-access level.
