The garden monitoring network of the VVE WG Butterflies aims to determine a trend of the different species of butterflies that occur in a garden and its surroundings. It is a long-term project that mainly concentrates on and around the research area of the Project Butterflies Durme and Scheldt Area (PDDS) in the north of East Flanders. This network is also a means of examining how butterflies survive in an 'unnatural' environment which is characterized by a lot of (ribbon) buildings and intensive agriculture which is typical in this part of Flanders. Le réseau de surveillance des jardins du GT VVE Papillons vise à déterminer une tendance des différentes espèces de papillons présentes dans un jardin et ses environs. Ce réseau est un projet à long terme qui se concentre principalement dans et autour de la zone de recherche du projet « Butterflies Durme and Scheldt Area (PDDS) » dans le nord de la Flandre orientale. Le projet est également un moyen d’examiner comment les papillons survivent dans un environnement «non naturel» caractérisé par de nombreux bâtiments (rubans) et une agriculture intensive typique de cette partie de la Flandre.
