The Effectiveness of Remote Work in the United Arab Emirates during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of remote work in the United Arab Emirates during the COVID-19 pandemic. It sought to identify the positive and negative aspects of this experience and determine the readiness of employees and institutions, both government and private, to adopt remote work practices. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing surveys and gathering the opinions of employees from both sectors regarding their remote work experiences during the pandemic. The study revealed that the UAE possesses a strong communication and technology infrastructure, enabling efficient remote work during the crisis. Employees in the public and private sectors demonstrated the ability to effectively utilize technology and artificial intelligence tools. The findings contributed to evaluating the perspectives of employees and their awareness of remote work practices, training needs, and familiarity with remote organizational structures. While remote work had its advantages, such as ensuring business continuity, there were also negative aspects reported by employees. These included feelings of boredom, weight gain, vision problems, back pain, and psychological challenges such as social isolation and reduced interpersonal communication. The successful implementation of remote work during the pandemic has increased awareness among the general public and stakeholders about its importance in providing employment opportunities and the role it plays in advancing electronic and technological advancements. هدفت هذه الدراسة إىل التعرف على مدى فاعلية العمل عن بعد بدولة اإلمارات خالل جائحة -19covid املستجد وبيان إجيابيات وسلبيات هذه التجربة، والوقوف على جاهزية املوظفني واملؤسسات احلكومية واخلاصة لتطبيق هذا النظام، وقد استخدم الباحث املنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خالل أسلوب مسح وأخذ آراء املوظفني العاملني يف القطاعني احلكومي واخلاص حول جتربتهم يف العمل عن بعد خالل هذه اجلائحة، وخلصت الدراسة إىل عدد من النتائج أهمها: أن اإلمارات متتلك بنية قوية يف جمال االتصال والتكنولوجيا، وكذلك قدرتهم على استمرار العمل عن بعد بكفاءة خالل هذه اجلائحة،وأن موظفي القطاع احلكومي واخلاص قادرون على التواصل مع التكنولوجيا واستخدام تقنيات الذكاء االصطناعي وقد ساهمت الدراسة يف تقييم وجة نظر العاملني بالقطاعيني احلكومي واخلاص، ومدى معرفتهم لالستخدام التقين عن بعد، ومدى حاجتهم إىل التدريب والتأهيل والتعرف على املنظمة اإللكرتونية اليت تعمل عن بعد. ويف مقابل هذه اإلجيابيات للعمل عن بعد هناك بعض السلبيات املتعلقة بالصحة اليت أشارإليها املوظفون، منها: الشعور بامللل وزيادة الوزن وضعف النظر وآالم الظهر، وكذلك بعض األمراض االجتماعية النفسية، ومنها: العزلة االجتماعيه، وقلة التواصل مع اآلخرين. ومن خالل جناح جتربة العمل عن بعد باعتباره أسلوبًا جديدًا ألداء العمل طبقته اإلمارات خالل هذه اجلائحة، وساهمت هذه الدراسة يف زيادة الوعي لدى اجلماهري واملراجعني بأهمية العمل عن بعد، ودوره املهم يف توفري فرص العمل، وتعزيز دور الدولة يف التوجه اإللكرتوني والتقين وتقديم اخلدمات عن بعد.
