Abstract: The social and solidarity economy is an important leverage for local development in Morocco, which places people at the heart of economic activity and social integration. Sectoral cooperatives constitute one of the main components, which are divided into 22 cooperative sectors, according to the allocated goal and main activity. The number of cooperatives at the national level is 15 .623 in 2015 with 48 .4124 members, increased significantly in 2020 to reach 4 531 cooperatives with 64. 6,901 members, inducing an increase of 24,799 cooperatives, which represents a growth rate of 19% between 2015 and 2020. (Statistical bulletin of cooperatives and their unions in Morocco for the year 2015, published by the Development Cooperation Office, 2017, and the official website of the Development Cooperation Office) The Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region is considered one of the regions that has experienced a significant increase in the number of sectoral cooperatives, which increased by 1.472 cooperatives in 2015 with 39.152 members. In 2020, the cooperative movement recorded the existence of 3,065 cooperatives with 49,120 members. In the first row, we find cooperatives with agricultural activities which represent 66% of cooperatives with a number reaching 1.966. which are divided into several agricultural production sectors the most important of which are: beekeeping, figs, olive oil, prickly pears, aromatic and medicinal plants, couscous..., which include a significant percentage of working women. This significant growth which concerned sectoral cooperatives in particular in agricultural cooperatives at the national level, particularly in the Northern region, contributed to creating employment positions for cooperative members, to strengthening their capacities in the field of management and even governance of the cooperative, and to acquire know-how in the marketing and promotion of agricultural products of terroirs. The role of women in this case constitutes one of the fundamental pillars in the development and growth of the activities of various female or mixed agricultural cooperatives, to the extent that this allows them to access a certain independence, both financial and moral. And it is precisely this dynamism in the field of agricultural cooperative work which makes it possible to achieve, on the one hand, important indicators in terms of local development and personal development of members and, on the other hand, which allows the influence isolated and marginalized areas. despite challenges and difficulties to witch this sector still faces.
