- Abstract:
The article presents information on the use of powerful X-rays for studying the structure and behavior of atoms and molecules. Researchers at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, captured the pictures of proteins by using an accelerator called the Cornell High-Energy Synchrotron Source, which produces a beam of X-rays at a very fast pace. This is because conventional X-rays are very weak for giving short exposures. This technique can also be used to study different viruses and metals.
