يهدف البحث الى دراسة الظاهرة بأبعادها الجغرافية والقطاعية وتحليل واقع انتاج واستهلاك الغاز والكميات المهدورة. ولتحقيق الاهداف قسم البحث الى مقدمة توضح الاطار النظري للبحث وثلاث محاور الأول : تناول الهيكل المكاني لصناعة الغاز في العراق الثاني احتياطي الغاز في العراق والانتاج والاستهلاك الثالث الافاق المستقبلية لتطوير صناعة الغاز في العراق تبين من خلال البحث أن هناك تباين واضحفي انتاج الغاز على مستوى العراق وان تخلف قطاع الغاز ادى الى حرق كميات كبيرة وهدر للثروة الطبيعية . وان ما يمتلكه العراق من ثروة هيدروكربونية وموقعه الجغرافي ، يوفر له فرص حالية ومستقبلية كبيرة لتلبية الطلب المحلي والعالمي . بالمقابل فان الآثار البيئية الناتجة عن حرق الغاز في العراق كبيرة تنعكس سلبا على الجانب الصحي والجانب الاقتصادي على الجهات ذات العلاقة الاسراع بإنجاز وتطوير مشاريع تجميع الغاز ومعالجته ونقله ، ووقف حرق الغاز المصاحب ، وتلبية الطلب المحلى من الغاز وبما يسهم في الحد من هدر الثروة الطبيعية وتوفير الأموال. كما يجب وضع الحلول والمعالجات اللازمة للحد من الآثار البيئية السلبية الناتجة عن صناعة الغاز وحماية البيئة والانسان [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The research aims to study the phenomenon with its geographical and sectorial dimensions and to analyze the production and consumption of gas and waste quantities. To achieve the objectives, the research was divided into an introduction that explains the theoretical framework of the research, and three axes. The first: dealing with the spatial structure of the gas industry in Iraq, the second: the gas reserves in Iraq, production and consumption, and the third: the future prospects for the development of the gas industry in IraqIt was found through the research that there is a clear discrepancy in the production of gas at the level of Iraq. The underdevelopment of the gas sector led to the burning of large quantities and a waste of natural wealth. Iraq's hydrocarbon wealth and geographical location; It provides him with great current and future opportunities to meet local and global demand. On the other hand, the environmental impacts resulting from burning gas in Iraq are great and negatively affect the health and economic aspectsThe relevant authorities should expedite the completion and development of gas collection, processing and transportation projects, stopping the burning of associated gas, and meeting the local demand for gas, in a way that contributes to reducing the waste of natural wealth and saving money.
