- Abstract:
The article focuses on issues relating to verification in a disarmament agreement. The exchange and utilization of information about inventories of national armaments, armed forces, military production, and expenditures is considered to be one aspect of verification in a disarmament agreement. It is cited that the Soviet Union and the U.S. has not proposed concrete verification procedures despite the emphasis on the need for effective verification at the disarmament negotiations. The two major verification problems in an agreement of general and complete disarmament are also discussed.
