      The article identifies the advances made on a research about urban law in Barranquilla, Colombia. The author cites the normative background and identifying the main problems affecting how people live together and the city development. It is concluded that it is necessary to modify the plan of territorial ordering with the objective of adding internal strategies dealing with the management of physical space to reform the normative framework.
