- Abstract:
  The article discusses the results of a survey conducted by The Washington Post, Kaiser Family Foundation, and Harvard University, in their effort to determine the attitudes of South Africans toward and experiences with democracy. The survey also aims to determine South Africans' level of trust in leaders and institutions, and their hopes and fears for the future of their country. The other aspects examined are their optimism for the future, confidence in the national government, and their attitudes towards democratic voting.
