      The article focuses on a study which analyzes the effectiveness of rehabilitation educational institutions in the development of minors in Poland. The study was conducted in Youth Educational and Rehabilitation Centres and Reform Schools during 2005-2006. The results show that the most important problem of the institution was lack of financial resources, which in turn affected its educational efficiency. Another problem was lack of professional competence in the pedagogical personnel.
