- Abstract:
  The article looks at how Virginia Tech will reopen laboratories and offices in Norris Hall, the scene of deadly campus shootings in April 2007. While general-assignment classes will not be held in the building, the building will house facilities of the department of engineering science and mechanics and the department of civil and environmental engineering. According to Lawrence G. Hincker, Norris Hall contains sophisticated, one-of-a-kind facilities, such as biomechanics, adhesion-science, and composite-materials laboratories, that could not be easily moved elsewhere on the campus.
