      The article presents information on the government and political conditions of Djibouti. The republic's electorate approved the current constitution in September 1992. On April 8, 2005, the presidential election was held wherein Ismail Omar Guelleh was re-elected to second 6-year term at the head of a multi-party coalition and other major parties. The country has its own armed forced which during the civil war in 1991. A Family Law was enacted in 2002 which enhanced the protection of women and children.
