- Abstract:
  The author presents the case study of Norman Spencer, a successful businessman working hard to provide for his family who is suffering emotional pain due to a traumatic childhood and loss of contact with his sister and mother. Psychiatrist Edward M. Hallowell believes that Norman let work take over his life and he should reconnect with his family, his past and himself. Scott Neely of Lotus Capital Group thinks Norman needs to grieve for those he has lost and develop other sides of himself. Growth & Leadership Center CEO Jean Hollands believes Norman must create a new goal of family restoration. Psychoanalyst Manfred F.R. Kets de Vries thinks Norman may be suffering an 'anniversary reaction;' he is approaching the age of his father when he died. Norman should strengthen family ties and see a psychotherapist or coach.
