    • Abstract:
In the field of adult education, two major schools of thought influence the French-speaking world. The first approach relies on knowledge transfer methods, where learners are typically being lectured to. The second more recent approach is rooted in Occupational Science, known as the analysis of practices: learners are confronted with real-life professional situations, and they become reflective practitioners who truly comprehend certain features of the profession they're learning. In this article, adult education specialists Bronckart and Bulea discuss the main methods used to analyze practices, their potential objectives, and how to these methods fit with traditional models of knowledge transfer. The authors explore what type of data analysis is required to identify and understand the training effects of textual accounts produced by learners when put in a reflective professional learning context.
