    • Abstract:
The article reports on the development of the Zero Gradient Synchroton (ZGS)atom smasher at the Argone National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois. It states that the 47-million-dollar project will enable scientists to study all the fundamental particles of the atom. According to Dr. Lee Teng, head of the Particle Accelerator Division at Argonne, the ZGS is designed to produce sub-atomic particles at 12.5 billion electron volts.
