      This article examines the relationships between forest songbirds and calcium availability in northeastern U. S. It offers observations on a liming application experiment at four 100-hectare forest sites in central Pennsylvania. Graphs on territory density, nest density index and territory size are presented. An increase in territory density and clutch size with the addition of calcium to soils is discussed. It concludes that Ovenbird habitat quality was linked to soil calcium availability.
