This article is included in a thematic axis related to education and diversity, discussing the inexistence and/or inefficiency of public policies that promote reflection about gender and sexuality amongst teenagers in the middle of psychological development. Thus, it aims to describe social homophobic practices amongst the interns of a young offenders' institution, through participant observation, starting from a theoretic- methodological position marked by cultural and gender studies of post-structuralist authors. The analysis reflects upon the built conditions which establish and maintain such practices in places where the pedagogical proposal should promote social education that would value citizenship and respect according to the legally instituted norms. Cet article s’insère dans l’axe thématique de l’éducation et de la diversité, et interroge l’inexistence et/ou l’inefficacité de politiques publiques qui favorisent la réflexion sur les questions de genre et sexualité avec des adolescents en processus de développement psychosocial. À partir d’un positionnement théorique et méthodologique marqué par les études culturelles et de genre d’auteurs poststructuralistes, et a travers de l’observation participante, cet article vise à décrire des pratiques sociales homophobes, parmi les détenus d’une prison. L’analyse reflète sur les conditions construites qui établissent et maintiennent telles pratiques là où la proposition pédagogique devrait promouvoir une éducation sociale valorisant la citoyenneté et le respect, selon les normes juridiques instituées. Este artigo insere-se no eixo temático educação e diversidade, problematizando a inexistência e/ou ineficiência de políticas públicas que promovam a reflexão sobre gênero e sexualidades com adolescentes em pleno desenvolvimento psicossocial. Assim, objetiva descrever práticas sociais homofóbicas entre os internos de uma dada instituição prisional através da observação participante, partindo de um posicionamento teórico-metodológico marcado pelos estudos culturais e de gênero de autores pós-estruturalistas. A análise reflete sobre as condições construídas que estabelecem e mantêm tais práticas em lugares onde a proposta pedagógica deveria promover uma educação social que valorizasse a cidadania e o respeito, de acordo com as normativas legais instituídas.
