      The article reveals that scientists at the University of Chicago have learned insights into how some students overcome their fears and excel in mathematics in December 2011. Using brain-imaging technology, the scientists discovered a significant link between math excellence and activity in a network of brain areas in the frontal and parietal lobes involved in controlling attention and negative emotional reactions.
