- Abstract:
The article focuses on a foster care charter developed by the National Foster Care Association (NFCA) of Great Britain. The charter seeks to empower children, biological families and foster carers. An introductory training course for foster carers was also developed by NFCA to support the charter. The training encourages carers to see themselves as an integral part of the child care team to safeguard interests of the child and work with parents, agency workers and other professionals to appraise what they are doing.
