- Abstract:
The article presents a speech made by writer Peter Dickinson when he spoke at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, in July 1991. In the speech, Dickinson retells a story that the headmaster of his school used to tell, the story of Lord George Hell. In the story, George Hell uses a mask to change his face, which has become ugly because of vice and sinful behavior. Dickinson explains how the story applies to some of his own book, "Eva."
