Evaluación del uso de las bases de datos electrónicas en la docencia universitaria de la Universidad de Huelva. (Spanish)

Evaluation of the Use of Electronic Databases in University Teaching at the University of Huelva. (English)

Besides the three-fold profile a professor must have (teaching, management and research), he should also have a major control of electronic databases. At least, this it should be the case in order to have accesss to trustworthy documentation for the use of his research and teaching. The aim of this study is to evaluate how much a series of electronic databasis are known and used by part of the faculty at the University of Huelva. According to the obtained results, we determined whether it is necessary to propose lines of work for improvement. An instrument has been designed to obtain the necessary information so as to detect existing lacks. The quantitative sample consisted in 6 professors from each of the 9 schools at the University of Huelva, so as to reach 54 voluntary surveyed participants. Finally, we could confirm that it is still necessary for the faculty to receive more information on how electronic databases can be used to obtain information for his benefit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Dentro del triple perfil que debe tener un profesor universitario (docencia, gestión e investigación), éste debería tener un mayor control de las bases de datos electrónicas o por lo menos así debería ser, para acceder a documentación fiable para el uso de sus investigaciones y su docencia. El objeto de este estudio, es evaluar el grado de conocimiento y uso de una serie de bases de datos electrónicas, de un número reducido del profesorado, y basándonos en los resultados obtenidos, podremos apreciar si es necesario proponer líneas de trabajo para su mejora. Para ello se ha formulado un instrumento de medición, del cual hemos podido obtener los datos necesarios para detectar esas carencias o no. La muestra cuantitativa ha estado formado por 6 profesores de cada una de las 9 facultades que conforman la Universidad de Huelva, obteniendo los resultados de 54 encuestados, que han contestado de forma voluntaria al cuestionario. Finalmente en este trabajo pudimos contrastar que aún hace falta que el docente reciba mayor información de cómo hacer uso de esta bases de datos electrónicas para adquirir información en su beneficio.
