This report presents results from one of several research studies involving the European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students (ERASMUS), one of the inter-university cooperation programs initiated by the Commission of European Communities. It is noted that ERASMUS, as well as the other inter-university cooperation programs, are beginning to produce relevant side effects, in as far as they have created the first laboratory of European Higher Education and have provided a unique number of documents for educational research and comparative studies in education. This report is part of the monitoring and evaluation phase and represents nearly the entire final report of an evaluation of the ERASMUS programs in the fields of Business Administration, Chemistry, and History. Within the framework of the evaluation of ERASMUS programs, the report presents findings concerning: (1) the arrangements of credit transfer and academic recognition, (2) curriculum interaction and adaptation, and (3) modification of teaching approaches. Additionally, a comparative evaluation of the programs as well as conclusions and recommendations are provided. The appendix provides data and other information on the research and the questionnaire.
