Abstract: espanolSe presentan los resultados obtenidos al aplicar tecnicas andragogicas en la Facultad de Ingenieria en Sistemas, en la extension departamental de una Universidad Privada en la Ciudad de Guatemala durante el ano 2018. El interes al aplicarlas era saber si estas pueden influir positivamente en la disminucion del fracaso educativo. Durante el segundo semestre del ano 2018 se selecciono a dos secciones de los cinco cursos donde se identifico que hay mas altos indices de desercion y repitencia. A traves de un cuasiexperimento en una de las secciones en donde se desarrollo el estudio, se aplico un estimulo a traves de tecnicas andragogicas, mientras que en la otra no, lo que permitio verificar que hubo un cambio en la disminucion de los indices de fracaso educativo, ocasionados por la desercion y repitencia educativa. La poblacion total fue de 706 estudiantes y se tomo una muestra de 395 estudiantes, que constituyo la totalidad de los sujetos participantes en el estudio. Con los resultados del estudio se logro una disminucion del fracaso educativo en los cursos en donde se aplicaron las tecnicas andragogicas. EnglishThe results obtained when applying andragogic techniques are presented in the Faculty of Systems Engineering, in the departmental extension of a Private University in Guatemala City during the year 2018. The interest of being able to apply them was to know if they can positively influence the decrease of educational failure. During the second semester of 2018, two sections of the five courses were selected where it was identified that there are higher dropout and repetition rates. Through a quasi-experiment in one of the sections where the study was developed, a stimulus was applied through andragogic techniques, while not in the other, which allowed verifying that there was a change in the decrease in failure rates educational, caused by school dropout and repetition. The total population was 706 students and a sample of 395 students was taken, which constituted the totality of the subjects participating in the study. With the results of the study, a decrease in educational failure was achieved in the courses where andragogic techniques were applied.
