Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse the local historical component of library video materials on YouTube video hosting, as well as to identify the specifics of local historical library activities in this multimedia environment. Research methods. The study grounds on the application of general scientific methods of cognition (description, analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalisation) and special methods (content analysis of library YouTube channels, in particular local historical video data) at the empirical and theoretical levels. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the process of using video hosting by libraries in the context of adaptation to new media realities is summarised. The role of library YouTube channels in promoting local history, culture and traditions is studied. Peculiarities and common features of local historical video content of libraries are identified, and new approaches to preserving local identity are clarified. The prospects for the further development of local historical library activities are outlined according to the process of integrating the library into the digital environment, including involving the public to participate in creating multimedia products. Main conclusions. Digital transformations of libraries have a great potential for preserving and popularising historical, cultural and local historical heritage. It is important that libraries not only preserve this heritage, but also actively integrate it into the wider public circulation through the availability and use of innovative technologies. YouTube opens perspectives for libraries in expanding their local historical activities. It is important that libraries use these opportunities effectively, in such a way creating qualitative, useful and interesting content for their audience. Local historical YouTube channels not only contribute to the formation of certain historical and cultural identity, but also expand the area for studying and research activities. The intensive development of local historical video content provides libraries with new possibilities in increasing access to local historical sources and maximise their potential use. Due to interactive formats, educational programmes, documentary films and active interaction with the audience, libraries can provide a deeper understanding and interest in local historical issues, while increasing the effectiveness of their own local historical activities.
Мета статті – проаналізувати краєзнавчу складову відеоматеріалів бібліотек на відеохостингу YouTube та виявити специфіку краєзнавчої бібліотечної діяльності у цьому мультимедійному середовищі. Методи дослідження. Дослідження ґрунтується на застосуванні загальнонаукових методів пізнання (опис, аналіз, синтез, порівняння, узагальнення) та спеціальних методів (контент-аналіз YouTube-каналів бібліотек, зокрема краєзнавчого відеомасиву) на його емпіричному та теоретичному рівнях. Наукова новизна. Вперше узагальнено процес використання бібліотеками відеохостингу в контексті адаптації до нових медійних реалій. Розглянуто роль бібліотечних YouTube-каналів у просуванні місцевої історії, культури і традицій. Виявлено особливості та спільні риси краєзнавчого відеоконтенту бібліотек і з’ясовано нові підходи у збереженні локальної ідентичності. Окреслено перспективи подальшого розвитку краєзнавчої бібліотечної діяльності відповідно до процесу інтеграції бібліотеки в цифрове середовище, в тому числі із залученням громадськості до участі у створенні мультимедійних продуктів. Основні висновки. Цифрові трансформації бібліотек мають великий потенціал для збереження і популяризації історико-культурної та краєзнавчої спадщини. Важливо, щоб бібліотеки не лише зберігали цю спадщину, але й активно інтегрували її у широкий суспільний обіг через доступність і використання новітніх технологій. YouTube відкриває бібліотекам перспективи для розширення їхньої краєзнавчої діяльності. Важливо, щоб бібліотеки ефективно використовували ці можливості, створюючи якісний, корисний і цікавий контент для своєї аудиторії. Краєзнавчі YouTube-канали не лише сприяють формуванню місцевої історичної і культурної ідентичності, а й розширюють поле для навчання та досліджень. Інтенсивний розвиток краєзнавчого відеоконтенту надає бібліотекам нові можливості у збільшенні доступу до краєзнавчих джерел та максимального використання їхнього потенціалу. Завдяки інтерактивним форматам, освітнім програмам, документальним фільмам та активній взаємодії з користувачами бібліотеки можуть забезпечити глибше розуміння і зацікавленість краєзнавчими темами, водночас збільшуючи ефективність власної краєзнавчої діяльності.
